Glass Bottle

Replicating back lighting effect of translucent object from photographic reference.

Responsibilities: Modeler, Surfacing Artist, Cloth Artist and Lighter

Tools: Maya

Modeling and UV Layout of all assets done in Maya. The glass bottle has a glass shader with a roughness map to give it an old fashion look. The curtains in the shot are pin restrained in place, simulated to naturally fold then converted into rigid body objects to improve render efficiency. Lighting rig for shot is based off a photograph with similar composition with the image in the window acting as a light source. Rendered using mental ray photon emitting lights and final gather.
